Step Into A Real Witch’s Cottage
Actual Magic — like Practical Magic, only this time the magic is real.
Actual Magic is a whimsical magical open house at a private witch’s cottage on Vashon Island, where wonder-curious guests can gather, make, browse, connect, and enjoy a more interesting kind of Saturday.
Guests can enjoy chocolate cake and signature refreshments; create a surprise witchy-craft; browse a pop-up boutique of magical goods, watch spell demonstrations; and explore personal offerings from local Island practitioners, each priced individually.
Come on your own or bring a friend. Our Social Butterfly will be there to help guests settle in, make introductions, and find friendly conversation throughout the day.

Cost:
Free registration includes entry, dessert, your first beverage, the surprise craft,
spell demonstrations, games, photo moments, and the general cottage experience.
Optional paid extras include bite-sized experiences from local Island practitioners and goods from the pop-up boutique.
We are experimenting with a community-supported way of gathering that creates access while honoring the work behind the magic.
At the end of the day, guests may also choose to make an optional pay-what-you-will contribution to help support the care, materials, food, drinks, and local talent that make gatherings like this possible.
Attire:
Come exactly as you are—or lean all the way into witchy, whimsical cottage-party style. Because much of the gathering is outdoors, please wear shoes that feel good on uneven ground and bring layers for October weather.
This is an intentionally small gathering, so advance registration is required.

A few cottage notes:
You do not need to know anything about magic to belong here—curiosity is enough.
Actual Magic is designed with adults in mind. Young people are welcome with their grown-ups, though ages 13+ will likely get the most from the experience.
Alcoholic refreshments are available only to guests age 21+.
This is a tented outdoor gathering on a naturalized property with uneven footing.
Please wear comfortable shoes and attend with care.

Actual Magic is presented by Rachelle, owner of Hearthwitchery, on Vashon Island.
Aimee joins as co-host, bringing warmth, whimsy, and a welcoming presence to the day. Holly is our Social Butterfly, here to help guests—especially solo arrivals—settle in, meet people, and feel at home.
Together, we are making a small, wonder-filled place because we believe “the more you romanticize your life, the more you make room for magic.”
